Originally from upstate New York, Ms. Box has lived in multiple states and a year in Europe. She has a BS in Psychology from McGill University, an MS in Elementary Education from the College of St. Rose and completed graduate study in educational leadership at Colorado State University.
Ms. Box has been in the field of education for over 20 years. She began her career by teaching grades 3-7 in Savannah, GA for five years at a school for at-risk boys. After that time, she moved to Colorado to serve as a founding fourth grade teacher at Twin Peaks Charter Academy in 1997. She later served in a leadership capacity for the academy from 2000-2005, before moving out of Colorado. Having returned to the state, she served as a school and regional leader for Imagine Schools for 11 years. In between these experiences, she taught 6th grade math at a public middle school in Killeen, TX, and served for a year as a preschool Director in Enterprise, AL. She returned to Twin Peaks in 2020, where she assists both the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. When not at work, Ms. Box enjoys spending time with all “her boys”, her husband, Kevin, three children, ranging in ages from 10-18, and three dogs. She enjoys watching football (especially when her boys are playing), skiing, hiking, reading, photography and traveling. Ms. Box is passionate about providing quality educational experiences for all students, the world of animal rescue, and preserving our ability to have relevant and thoughtful conversations.
